She was truly a Catholic evangelical force in the United States.
The stoke that took her off the air occurred on Christmas Eve, 2001.
Jesus, her Master, took her home on His triumphant day – Easter Sunday – the day of His first ‘return.’ I’d be willing to bet Christ met her with yellow roses – they were her favorite.
I also couldn’t help recall the prophecy regarding ‘the end’ as described in Scripture. Mother Angelica had a HUGE impact on spreading the Gospel throughout the world through the global reach of EWTN. I bolded the verse of .scripture that specifically references this. Since, the overall passage was so potent and timely, I included all of it –
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall seduce many. And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold. But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached in the whole world, for a testimony to all nations, and then shall the consummation come. When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand.
May she rest in Christ’s eternal peace.
Here she is at her best –
